Giving a Speech

Brooke's Story

To bring you up to speed on what I’ve been doing since graduation....

I started teaching Yoga right after graduation for a private Yoga Studio in San Diego.

In addition, I completed the trauma-informed Yoga training at the Soul of Yoga as well as completed the Reiki Master training at Soul of Yoga with Erika Lee.

Shortly after I began teaching for a non-profit organization that helps those affected by Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse. I was so grateful to lead Yoga for their Survivor Retreats.

I was nominated and appointed to the Board for the Victims of Violent Crime through The San Diego District Attorneys office.  After attending several Board meetings and meeting so many great people within the organization, I was asked by the Assistant Deputy District Attorney to be the keynote speaker for the first ever Victims of Violent Crime Survivors Summit as well as to be a lead facilitator for the planning sessions during the Summit. I was asked to speak on Transforming Trauma through Yoga. I was also asked to lead a Yoga class for the entire Summit. There were over 500 attendees. I was so nervous and at the same time it felt so right—like everything that has happened was meant to get me to this place.  Following the Survivors Summit, I was asked to lead another Yoga class at a Domestic Violence Training for the Community which also had over 400 attendees.

This is just a little of what I have been up to.

With gratitude,

Brooke
